Nancy MacRae
Chief Executive Officer

Nancy MacRae has nearly 25 years in non-for-profit management, most recently as Vice President at the American Medical Association.

Nancy worked for 20 years advancing patient and physician issues at the American Medical Association.  She was a member of the AMA management team for 15 years, and as VP, Advocacy Operations Nancy was responsible for operational management of the AMA's Advocacy Group and its 100 employees, including its prestigious DC-based lobbying units, health policy, state legislative and private sector units, and managing the group's $25M budget. 

   

Lee Stillwell

Lee StillwellAt the forefront of the American Medical Association's national advocacy efforts for 18 years as chief lobbyist, Lee Stillwell served as Senior Vice President, The Advocacy Group, managing a staff of 120 located in Chicago and Washington, D.C., with a budget of more than $22 million and oversight of one of the nation's premier political action committees.

Stillwell also supervised the AMA's health policy operation, spearheaded development of a unit to monitor the private health care marketplace, and directed staff coordination of relations with more than 100 medical specialty societies and all state and county medical societies.

   

Alex Chafuen

Alex is an economics Ph.D. and expert in non-profit management who has served as President of the Atlas Economic Research Foundation since 1990.

   

Mary Jo Malone

Mary Jo Malone's career includes professional experience in federal and state government and medical association work. She is currently the Executive Vice President and CEO of the Physicians Advocacy Institute, Inc. (PAI).

She joined the PAI in 2006 after spending nineteen years advocating for physicians through her work with the American Medical Association (AMA). Ms. Malone held various positions with the AMA including Director of Federal Affairs in the AMA's Washington, DC office. She retired from the AMA after most recently serving seven years as the Vice President of Private Sector Advocacy.

   

Ross Rubin, JD

Ross RubinRoss is an experienced advocate for physicians at the federal and state levels. A member of the American Medical Association's legislative team from 1976 to 2005, he most recently served as vice president for legislative affairs.

A native of the Chicago area and a graduate of Michigan State University and the University of Illinois law school, Ross worked for the Illinois Pollution Control Board and the Illinois Department of Business and Economic Development before joining the AMA.

Ross served as secretary of the AMA's Council on Legislation, was responsible for much of the AMA's policy development on Medicare, and followed legislative developments that impacted physicians' practices.

   

Greg Walcher

Greg WalcherGreg is one of the most recognized and respected national leaders in natural resources policy.

He is President of his own firm, the Natural Resources Group, and a member of several other firms. He serves as Managing Director for Global Energy and Natural Resources at the executive search firm of LeaderBridge. He is also a senior associate in a global public affairs firm, The Stillwell Group, and in the respected environmental permitting firm of Dawson and Associates.

Walcher served in the Governor's Cabinet, leading the Colorado Department of Natural Resources, a department of 2500 employees, 8 divisions, 14 boards and commissions, and a $180 million budget. Its jurisdiction includes wildlife, parks, water, forestry, public lands, oil and gas, minerals and geology.

   

Linn Weiss

Linn WeissLinn Weiss is a communications and public policy professional with global business experience assisting top executives in the corporate and association sectors - most recently at the American Medical Association where he was senior vice president of communications and core identity.

A native of Missouri with bachelor's and master's journalism degrees from the University of Missouri, and with brief newspaper experience, Linn worked for General Electric for 10 years as a copywriter, publicist, speechwriter, editor and managing editor of GE's corporate employee and shareowner publications, including the GE annual report. Joining Schering-Plough where he worked 16 years, Linn eventually was promoted to staff vice president of corporate communications and then staff vice president of corporate public policy, where he worked with top management on key industry topics, legislative/business communications and public affairs programs.
